Starting January 1, 2025, the importation of new passenger vehicles for further customs clearance and first registration will be prohibited in Ukraine if they do not meet the Euro-6 environmental standard. This means only cars manufactured after 2015 will be allowed for import. The regulations apply not only to passenger cars.
This provision is outlined in law No. 4144-IX amending the Customs Code. The Verkhovna Rada adopted it on December 13, and the president signed it on December 30, 2024. The law applies to the following types of vehicles:
