Ukrainian forces thwarted a massive Russian assault near Kursk, resulting in the Kremlin losing a company of soldiers and equipment (video).

Ukrainian forces repelled a massive assault by the Russian Armed Forces in the Kursk region. This was reported on January 9 by the press service of the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade "Mahura," which released footage of the battles.

"The enemy deployed a significant amount of equipment and personnel. Leading their columns were tanks with trailers to clear paths. The attacks were executed in six waves. The enemy also attempted to break through with tanks, BMPs, armored personnel carriers, and even buggies — a total of about 50 units of equipment," the military stated.

However, as noted by the press service, all units of "Mahura" acted "as one mechanism" and "gave the enemy a good beating." As a result of the fighting, Russian tanks, BMP-2s, BMDs, armored personnel carriers, buggies, and the loitering munition "Lancet" were destroyed. This cost Moscow tens of millions of dollars.

"And the enemy's personnel losses amount to almost a company: 45 Russians were killed, 53 were wounded. We will maintain our formation," the brigade emphasized.

Recall that the commander of the communications platoon, Alexander "Turkish," spoke about a trophy medical armored vehicle "Linza," captured from the Russian Armed Forces in the Sumy region during the battles of 2022. Initially, the vehicle assisted in evacuating the wounded, but now it has been converted into a "mobile command center".

The head of the Kupiansk military-civilian administration, Andrey Besedin, reported on January 9 that Russian occupiers are storming positions two kilometers from the city. The Russian Armed Forces are trying to reach the "Svatove-Kupyansk" highway to subsequently advance to the left bank of Kupyansk.
