The Ukrainian government has introduced a new assistance program for children called "A Child Is Not Alone." Details were clarified on December 31 in NV.
Financial support will be provided to families who take in a child for temporary care before the child is granted orphan status or loses parental custody.
Until recently, such families did not receive any payments. This increased the risk of the child being placed in an institutional facility, as their care could become a heavy burden for relatives with limited income.

An application for assistance can be submitted by the person who has taken in the child for temporary care. An important condition is that the family must reside permanently in Ukraine. If the care period is extended, the support period can also be prolonged.
Additionally, payments can be arranged by a representative of the foster family or a family-type children's home where the child is temporarily placed.
The corresponding application is submitted to the social protection authorities, CPAU, or the executive bodies of territorial communities.

Assistance is paid to the personal account in an authorized bank specified in the application. Funds can also be received at the post office at the place of residence.
