"Забыл" о доме стоимостью $100 тыс.: НАБУ подозревает главу Гостаможслужбы в сокрытии имущества от декларации.

The Acting Head of the State Customs Service is suspected of failing to declare a house near Kyiv valued at over $100,000. This was reported by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau.

According to NABU, between 2021 and 2023, the acting head of the State Customs Service did not include information about a residential house near Kyiv with an area of 236.8 sq. m and the land plot it sits on in his electronic declaration.

Investigators found that the property, worth more than $100,000, was registered in the name of his wife’s father, while in reality, the actual owner is him and his family.

The investigation was initiated by detectives and prosecutors based on their own findings.

According to SAP, suspicion has been announced for the deliberate submission of knowingly false information in the declaration by a person authorized to perform state or local government functions, as stipulated by the Law of Ukraine "On Preventing Corruption."

Although the authorities have not disclosed the name of the suspect, the acting head of the State Customs Service is Sergey Zvyagintsev.

Sergey Zvyagintsev was appointed as the acting head of the State Customs Service by the government in February 2023. This followed the dismissal of the entire leadership of the State Customs Service. The Cabinet of Ministers dismissed the acting head of the customs service, Vyacheslav Demchenko, the first deputy head, Alexander Shchutsky, and the deputy head, Ruslan Cherkassky.

Recall that Washington insists on greater transparency and accountability for allocated funds for Ukraine, and after Donald Trump officially takes office as president, there may be an investigation into corruption in Ukraine.
