In Poland, 10 female citizens of Ukraine were detained for working at a clothing warehouse and conspiring against their employer. They caused damages amounting to 3 million zlotys. This was reported on the website of the police in the city of Zgierz (Łódź Voivodeship).
The victim of the crime was a large clothing company that conducts online sales across Europe. The detained women were employees of the returns warehouse.
The investigation revealed that the suspects created fake customer accounts on the store's website, ordered clothing, which they then picked up, and marked it as "returned goods" in the sales system. The suspects had access to the store's transaction system, allowing them to input false information about the return of purchased items.
The women acted together since January 2024 and were uncovered when an inventory check was conducted at the online store, revealing a discrepancy in the number of items that, according to the electronic system, should have been returned by customers.
As a result, the company issued unwarranted refunds to accounts of fake individuals. Additionally, the suspects sold clothing that had essentially been stolen from the warehouse.
Preliminary estimates suggest that due to these actions, the company could have lost around 3 million zlotys.
All of the Ukrainian women have been charged with fraud concerning property of significant value. They face up to 10 years in prison for their actions. After questioning, they were released but prohibited from leaving Poland.
Let us remind you that in Poland, Ukrainians have mistreated fellow Ukrainians. Due to a debt, two men attacked their compatriots and took them to the beach, where the abuse continued. They forced them to eat sand, drink water, and enter the cold sea. The victims had 2 phones and 2 chargers taken from them.
