The Head of the Kupiansk City Military Administration, Andriy Besedin, reported that the frontline is only two kilometers away from the city. The enemy is actively shelling the community's territory, complicating the delivery of humanitarian aid and the evacuation of civilians. The situation remains critical.
According to Besedin, speaking during a telethon, the shelling of the city has not ceased, involving all types of weapons—mortars, artillery, multiple launch rocket systems, guided aerial bombs, and FPV drones. The enemy is targeting logistical routes and central supply paths, particularly hindering the delivery of humanitarian assistance.
Besedin stated that the situation on the left bank of the Kupiansk community has been critical for over three months. More than 900 individuals, mostly elderly people, remain in dire conditions and categorically refuse to evacuate.
"The number of people who remain is essentially stable. A small number of individuals are leaving, especially from the left bank of the Kupiansk community, where the situation is critical. It has been critical for over three months; there is no electricity, gas, or water supply, no social services, shops, pharmacies, or hospitals. More than 900 people remain there, mostly elderly individuals who categorically refuse to leave, living in inhumane conditions," the official stated.
Ukraine is losing up to 20 square kilometers of territory daily; over the past year, the Russians have seized 3,600 square kilometers. The highest losses are in the Donetsk region. In 2023, Ukraine has lost approximately 540 square kilometers overall, while reclaiming around 430 square kilometers.
Meanwhile, in the Kursk region of Russia, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have launched an offensive. Ukrainian troops are advancing towards Velyke Soldatske—a direction that the Russians previously considered difficult for an attack. It is known that the Ukrainian army is utilizing a significant amount of equipment for the assault. Powerful explosions can be heard, and electronic warfare has disabled Russian drones.
