During the strike on an arsenal in the Bryansk region of Russia, Ukraine utilized eight ATACMS ballistic missiles. The air defense managed to intercept only two of the launched missiles. The others reached their target, hitting it and destroying a massive ammunition depot.

An anonymous U.S. official disclosed this information to the Reuters news agency. It was noted that the Russians confirmed the attack, but claimed that they allegedly shot down five of the six missiles launched by Ukraine, and they also attempted to falsely assert that there were no fires or explosions at the attacked site.

For its part, Ukraine confirmed that it targeted ammunition depots located 110 kilometers from the border and stated that powerful secondary explosions were observed at the site. Currently, American ballistic missiles have become the most long-range weapon for the Russians – they can strike at distances of up to 306 kilometers.

Strike on Bryansk on November 19

In Russia, the Bryansk region was attacked on the night of November 19. Initially, it was reported that as a result of the strike, the warehouses of the 67th arsenal of the Main Rocket and Artillery Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defense were on fire, containing artillery ammunition, including those from North Korea, guided bombs, anti-aircraft missiles, and ammunition for multiple launch rocket systems.

Later, the Armed Forces of Ukraine officially confirmed the nighttime attack on the Bryansk region of Russia. Ukrainian fighters stated that the arsenal of the 1046 material support center was hit in the area of the town of Karachev, located 130 kilometers from Ukrainian territory. As of 2:30 AM, 12 secondary explosions were recorded at the warehouse. Detonations also occurred in the target area. The General Staff did not disclose information on what specifically caused the strike against the enemy.

However, according to sources from several Ukrainian media outlets, on the night of November 19, the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out a strike with ATACMS missiles on Russian territory for the first time. It is likely that this refers specifically to the strike on the Bryansk region.
