On the first day of 2025, Ukrainian forces eliminated over a thousand occupiers and shot down one helicopter, marking significant losses for Russia.

Ukrainian military forces eliminated an additional 1,250 Russian invaders in the last day. As a result, on Wednesday, January 1, Russian losses in the war in Ukraine exceeded 790,000 soldiers. In addition to enemy personnel, the Armed Forces of Ukraine also accounted for a significant amount of enemy armored vehicles, as well as one helicopter.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on the new combat losses of the enemy in the war. It was noted that during the previous day, December 31, Ukrainian fighters managed to destroy, among other things, 13 armored vehicles, 4 artillery systems, one piece of special equipment, and one helicopter.

Russia's losses

As a reminder, Chief Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi reported that throughout 2024, Russia paid the highest price for the war it initiated against Ukraine. The military losses of the enemy over the past year surpassed the threshold of over 421,000 wounded and killed.

In October 2024, Russia set an absolute record for personnel losses - 41,980 individuals (according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine). However, by November 2024, the record was updated to 45,720 killed and wounded invaders.
