Liberation of Lyptsy: A military source shared details about the special operation involving Budanov.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine conducted a large-scale special operation in Lyptsi, Kharkiv region. As a result of the combat actions, which lasted nearly six months, over 400 hectares of forest were liberated, and many Russian soldiers were either killed or captured. The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Kyrylo Budanov, also participated in the cleanup operation in Lyptsi.

More details about the Ukrainian defenders' special operation in Lyptsi and the involvement of the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kyrylo Budanov, were shared by a military member of the "Artan" unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate with the call sign "Donbas" for 24 Channel.

According to the military, the operation lasted almost six months — from May 2014 to October 2024. The Ukrainian defense forces liberated nearly 400 hectares of forest from Russian occupiers. During this time, almost an entire Russian regiment was destroyed, and many were taken prisoner. The operation involved stormtroopers, mortar operators, and drone operators. The head of Ukrainian intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, also joined the combat cleanup of the fortified area. His presence was both a surprise and a morale booster for many soldiers.

"Most of us entered there on foot. To be honest, even our leader (Kyrylo Budanov – ed.) came there. He was not there from the beginning of the operation; he joined after some time. Everyone was writing about it then; it's no secret. And I can say directly that it's true. I was quite inspired. I have never in my life seen generals of such a level come to your position where a drone or anything else could fly in," the soldier recounted.

A fighter from "Artan" emphasized that the operation was prepared thoroughly and carefully. It took place in extremely difficult terrain, where the vegetation was very dense. Many Russians did not even expect to be captured. The Armed Forces of Ukraine identified enemy observation points, entered them, and took Russian soldiers prisoner. For them, it was a real shock.

Special Operations Involving Budanov

Earlier, the commander of the "Stugna" unit with the call sign "Linux" shared details about the liberation of the Vovchansk Aggregate Plant in Kharkiv region. He noted that the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov directly participated in the liberation of the plant.

At that time, the members of the Main Intelligence Directorate captured about twenty Russian soldiers. The order for the de-occupation of the site was given by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate. The operation lasted over a week and was accompanied by intense shelling.
