Zhytomyr lawyer Serhii Kasyanchuk has reported to the police allegations against representatives of the TCC for unlawful detention, obstruction of legal activities, and infliction of bodily harm. The police in Zhytomyr region confirmed that a criminal investigation has been opened. Kasyanchuk claims in a TikTok video that military personnel broke his collarbone during his detention on Sunday, October 27.

Kasyanchuk explains that he was detained on the street by patrol police officers along with two representatives of the TCC. According to him, he was informed that he was wanted and was forcibly taken to the regional hospital for a military medical commission, although the lawyer had an extract from "Diia" showing that he was not wanted and requested the preparation of a protocol for an administrative investigation.

"I was denied, forcibly shoved into a patrol car, and taken to the TCC," — states the lawyer.

Kasyanchuk mentions that his father, who is also a lawyer and was supposed to defend his rights, arrived at the hospital, but according to him, his parents were forcibly made to leave the premises.

"I was pushed further into the next room, and the glass in the doors was broken. During this process, I sustained bodily injuries, I have a fracture with displacement, and now I need surgery to insert a plate. I also suffered bodily injuries to my torso and kidneys," — declares the lawyer.

He accuses the TCC of unlawful detention and delivery to the VVK, as well as obstruction of legal activities. He states that a ruling was issued against him for failing to appear in response to a summons and a protocol for administrative detention was prepared, in which Kasyanchuk noted that he had sustained bodily harm.

The lawyer called an ambulance, and the team decided on hospitalization, placing the injured individual in the orthopedic department.

Kasyanchuk states that he filed a complaint about the crime with the police and provided testimony to the investigator.

"What happened to me was directly due to my legal activities, I am sure of this because I have been receiving 'congratulations' for about a month now," — says the lawyer.

In a comment to TSN journalists, Serhii Kasyanchuk noted that TCC employees held him for five hours.

The Zhytomyr regional TCC responded to TSN.ua's inquiry regarding the conflict: "It is possible that all of this will be commented on in the near future."

According to journalists, military personnel also added that they have unconfirmed information that Kasyanchuk had certain issues with his arm even before meeting with the TCC representatives, thus raising doubts about the lawyer's claims.

Press secretary of the Zhytomyr police, Ivanna Siletska, confirmed to journalists that a criminal investigation was opened based on the lawyer's report.

"A local resident reported an injury to the police. The report was accepted and registered. The police opened a criminal case under part one of Article 122 ('Intentional moderate bodily harm'). Currently, all circumstances are being established, pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and it is being determined who exactly inflicted the injuries on him," — said Ivanna Siletska.

It should be noted that on October 30, a court ruling was published regarding the receipt of a bribe in the amount of $4,000 (about 160,000 hryvnias) by a TCC employee in Odesa. The accused was fined 80,000 hryvnias.
