"Historic day": The Lviv region has completely eliminated religious communities of the UOC-MP.

The head of the regional military administration reported that during the full-scale invasion, over 50 communities of the Moscow Patriarchate either joined the Orthodox Church of Ukraine or ceased their activities.
"Исторический момент": во Львовской области завершено полное уничтожение религиозных общин УПЦ МП.

Lviv region has become the first in Ukraine where there are no registered religious communities of the UOC-MP. This was reported by the head of the Lviv OVA, Maksym Kozytskyi.

"Today is a historic day for Lviv region — the region has been cleared of religious communities that are subordinate to the Moscow Patriarchate. Lviv region has become the first in Ukraine where there are no longer any registered religious communities of the UOC-MP," he stated.

Maksym Kozytskyi mentioned that in 2014, there were 66 religious communities of the Moscow Patriarchate in Lviv region. As of February 24, 2022, there were 54. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, 27 communities joined the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, while another 27 ceased their activities on their own accord.

"The fate of these religious communities once again proves the futility of manipulation and deception. There are only two paths — truth or falsehood. And truth will inevitably prevail," he added.

We remind you that in September, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law on the prohibition of the activities of the Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine. At that time, he stated that "Ukrainian Orthodoxy is taking a step towards liberation from Moscow's devils."

It is worth noting that three years ago, representatives of the UOC-MP privatized the palace of Ukrainian philanthropist Mykhailo Tereshchenko in the village of Chervon, Zhytomyr region. The prosecutor's office fought for several years to annul the illegal privatization and in November restored the previous owner.
