Two residents of Kharkiv "flew" in a Tesla towards a minibus where employees of the Kharkiv recruitment center were located. The men attempted to rescue a person sitting in the cabin — a relative of one of the attackers. The "rescue" attempt ended unsuccessfully, and one of the suspects was apprehended. Details of the attack and the firearms and cold weapons they used were shared by the head of the investigative department of the National Police in the Kharkiv region, Sergei Bolvinov, who wrote about it on his Facebook page.
Bolvinov's message appeared online around 7 PM on January 14. The official reported an attack on the TCK vehicle aimed at abducting a military conscript. The conscript, whose fate concerned the attackers, is the nephew of one of the assailants, the owner of the "Tesla" and a local entrepreneur. The man, along with an accomplice, blocked the road with the "Tesla" to obstruct the movement of the military recruitment minibus. After that, one of them rushed to the back door, broke the glass, and began fighting, stated a National Police representative. The report indicated that after the incident with the TCK, the police issued a "Intercept" alarm. As a result, the uncle of the conscript, a 49-year-old man, was detained. The search for the accomplice continues, the police representative concluded.
The law enforcement officer published photos from the scene of the TCK incident. One photo shows the military recruitment minibus parked next to the sidewalk. In another, the back seat of the minibus is covered with glass from the broken window.
0There are also photos of items that the attackers likely had with them. It is evident that the residents of Kharkiv, preparing to attack the military recruiter, brought an axe, two knives, and a pistol with five cartridges.
1Ultimately, Bolvinov noted that it is inappropriate to use "Wild West" methods in a warring country. He emphasized that such situations are eagerly exploited by Russian propagandists. According to the law enforcement officer, the detained individual and his accomplice are suspected of hooliganism and obstructing the work of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Meanwhile, the nephew, who is a driver by profession, has already been mobilized, the report states.
2On the Facebook page of the Kharkiv regional recruitment center, there was no comment regarding the TCK incident during which people attempted to rescue the military conscript.
As a reminder, on January 10, there was an incident with TCK involving a lawyer. Footage from the scene shows how a person is pushed out the door: military recruiters explained what happened.
