In Zaporizhia, a woman hired a hitman for 15 million hryvnias to kill her ex-husband and his family. Here are the details of the shocking case.

In Zaporizhzhia, law enforcement officials apprehended a woman who ordered the murder of her ex-husband and his family. This was reported by the press service of the Zaporizhzhia police.

The 34-year-old local resident aimed to eliminate her ex-spouse, his brother, and their mother to seize her former partner's million-dollar fortune. Authorities learned about the murder plot in time and conducted a special operation, staging the killings of the brothers. Subsequently, the hitman was supposed to kill their mother as well.

During the investigation, it was revealed that after her divorce from her ex-husband, the woman, with two young children in her care, began devising a plan to claim her ex's wealth.

To accomplish this, she sought a hitman who was collaborating with law enforcement. During several meetings monitored by the police, the client finalized the details of the murders of her ex-family members. The perpetrator was to stage a robbery during which he would kill her ex-husband and steal 30 million hryvnias.

He was also supposed to eliminate his biological brother, and later — the ex-mother-in-law. Afterward, the client would become the sole owner of all the property. The woman promised the hitman 15 million hryvnias, half of which she was to pay once she received photographic evidence.

For the preparations, she paid the executor 1,600 dollars and 8,000 hryvnias.

On December 21, to save the lives of the three family members, the police carried out a special operation in the Zaporizhzhia region. They staged the murders of the client’s ex-husband and his brother — after which the hitman informed the woman about the "elimination" of the two victims, sending her photos from the crime scene.

Convinced of the partial fulfillment of her order, the woman met with the hitman and paid part of the promised amount. She was arrested on the spot.

Investigators informed the suspect of her charges related to the preparation of a contract killing and planning a robbery.

The woman is currently in custody and faces up to 15 years behind bars.
