On Wednesday, Ukraine will still experience a "beautiful winter picture", but warmer temperatures are expected soon. This was reported on January 14 by meteorologist Natalia Didenko.
An atmospheric winter will be observed on January 15 in the west, as this part of the country will see snowfall. Snow or wet snow may also occur in the northern regions.
Due to the rise in temperature, the snow will begin to melt, making the asphalt wet. Additionally, during the daytime, there may be wet snow accumulation on the roads. The expert urged Ukrainians to be cautious.
In other regions, it will remain dry, and residents in the south will even see the winter sun. The lowest temperatures are expected in the southern regions (except for the Carpathians) — ranging from -4 to -8 degrees at night. Other areas are forecasted to experience temperatures from -2 to -6 degrees.
During the day, a thaw is anticipated. Frost will remain only in the west — between zero and -3 degrees.
In the capital, mid-January and the peak of winter will be marked by slight nighttime frosts — from -1 to -3 degrees. Throughout the day, the thermometers will show around zero.
At night and in the morning, a gusty west wind is expected in Kyiv, but it will calm down during the day. Significant precipitation on January 15 is considered unlikely by Didenko. However, she did not rule out the possibility of light snow, which may occur only in certain areas.
The meteorologist warned that gradual warming is ahead. She noted that winter in Ukraine has already reached its peak, but spring is still far away.
