The Spanish police have arrested two individuals in the province of Soria on suspicion of being involved in the disappearance of a man of Cuban descent. In their investigation, agents utilized evidence such as this image from Google Maps, which shows one person transporting what may be human remains in the trunk of their car.
The photograph was captured by a Google Maps vehicle in the municipality of Tahuéco in Soria, where only a few dozen people reside. The individuals arrested on November 12 were a woman who was the victim's partner and her former lover.
A relative of the missing man reported his disappearance on November 23 of last year after receiving messages from someone posing as the missing person, which raised suspicions.
Authorities discovered a portion of remains (which, in the absence of precise identification, appear to belong to the victim) buried underground at a cemetery in the municipality of Centenera de Andaluz, also located in the province of Soria. Modern technical means were required for this, according to a statement from the National Police.
The investigation is ongoing.
