Elon Musk continues his campaign in support of far-right European parties, including the "AfD" candidates in the German elections, and on Saturday, another post on X reaffirmed his stance.
"Make America Great Again" has long been the slogan of Donald Trump, who is often referred to as the most right-wing president in U.S. history.
Additionally, this slogan ("Make Europe Great Again") was used by Hungary, which held the EU presidency in the second half of 2024.
Musk's megaphone slogans irritate many political leaders in Europe, and this week the EU responded by intensifying its investigation into the algorithms of X.
On Thursday, the European Commission requested documents related to X's "recommendation systems," which suggest to users what they might want to read on the platform next.
"Today we are taking further steps to shed light on the compliance of X's recommendation systems with DSA (EU Digital Services Act) obligations," said Executive Vice-President for Technological Sovereignty, Security, and Democracy, Věra Jourová.
In response, Musk stated that he is a proponent of free speech and democracy, accusing European leaders and other critics of attempting to restrict them.
In August 2024, the Center for Countering Digital Hate, an American human rights and civil liberties group, reported that Musk's "false or misleading statements about the U.S. elections" were viewed nearly 1.2 billion times on X.
