Pope Francis: "Investing money in killing is madness."

During an audience at St. Peter's Basilica, the Pontiff criticized nations that invest funds in warfare rather than in the "common good." Francis referred to those who spend money on weapons as "madmen."
Папа Римский: "Инвестировать в насилие - это безумие."

"Let us not forget that money brings greater benefits when invested for the good of others. This is very important. Today, the investment situation is quite poor: in some countries, the most profitable investments are in arms factories. By investing to kill, we are losing our minds." This was emphasized by Pope Francis on Saturday morning during an audience with a delegation from the "Fondazione Cattolica di Verona."

"When we put wealth to serve humanity, we can only gain by promoting the common good," he continued. The Pope then urged the Foundation to "sow the future, sow happiness, sow peace."

Pope: "We are guardians of peace"

During the audience, Francis also stated: "Walking as pilgrims in the world reminds us that we are not its masters, but its guardians. This concerns all of us: we are called to care for the common home that the Lord has entrusted to us, that is, to cultivate and protect it according to wise and respectful principles."

"The term 'stewardship' means precisely this: wise management of the home. Therefore, I urge you to move forward, doing good always and for everyone," concluded Pope Francis.
