Air raid sirens sounded in several regions of Ukraine on the night of Wednesday. Russia launched drone attacks on the capital, as well as the Sumy, Chernihiv, Poltava, and Kharkiv regions.
In Kyiv, debris from a UAV fell on a building, damaging it and injuring two people, one of whom was hospitalized, reported Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Russian air defense systems destroyed 22 Ukrainian drones overnight, with most of them downed over the Rostov and Belgorod regions.
On the day before, the Russian Armed Forces launched a record number of 188 drones towards Ukraine. As a result of the strikes, residential buildings and critical infrastructure, including the country's energy systems, were damaged in several areas.
Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine: "Almost two hundred Russian drones attacked Ukraine in one day. This is nearly two hundred pieces of evidence that Russia's desires are far from the ideas of the real world."
At the same time, the Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed the hit of an American long-range ATACMS missile on the Kursk - Eastern airfield. The agency added that several servicemen were injured as a result of the strike and promised "retaliatory actions."
Meanwhile, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin urged the West to refrain from escalating tensions, stating that this would harm European citizens.
Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation: "We must stop creating tension and sliding into the abyss, which is happening due to the actions and decisions of Biden, Macron, Scholz, and their ilk."
Members of the State Duma approved the decision of the Russian military command to use the medium-range ballistic missile system "Oreshnik" to strike Dnipro on November 21.
