In Tehran, two members of the Supreme Court were killed by an unidentified assailant outside the agency's building, as reported by the Iranian news agency IRNA on Saturday. Another judge was injured. The attacker took his own life after the shooting.
In Iran, it has been clarified that the deceased judges - Ali Razini and Mohammad Mogiseh - specialized in cases related to espionage, terrorism, and crimes against national security.
Earlier, opposition websites had repeatedly claimed that one of the judges - Mohammad Mogiseh - was involved in trials of political prisoners. The motive for the attack is being investigated.
